Welcome to PawSox Blog 2010!

The Red Sox open their 2010 regular season tonight, meaning the PawSox 2010 campaign is right around the corner!

Opening Day for Pawtucket is this Thursday, April 8th at 7:05pm when the PawSox open their season at McCoy against the Rochester Red Wings.

2010 marks our third season of covering the Red Sox’ Triple A affiliate.  We will begin our look work Tuesday when the team assembles for Media Day.  We will also be on hand for the festivities and action on opening night.

Joining us on staff this season will be T.J. Donegan.  T.J. is an up and coming sports writer who helped us out last season during our coverage of the PawSox at Fenway Park.

We pledge to provide comprehensive coverage of the team as our part-time writing schedule permits.  We hope you will join us from time to time.  Here’s to a successful 2010 baseball season!

  • Wake Leaves with Lead

Tim Wakefield’s second rehab start is over, and he pitched very well.

Wakefield pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up one run on two hits, one of which was a home run to DH Justin Huber.  He walked one and struck out four.  He hit the final batter he faced, who incidentally was Huber.  He threw 81 pitches, 56 for strikes.

Wakefield may earn the win as Pawtucket scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and lead 2-1.
