  • Yankees Shut-out PawSox, 3-0

The PawSox have not had much luck in Moosic, PA against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees this season.  Two games earlier this year were postponed due to wet field conditions on SUNNY days!.  Friday’s opener here was also washed out.  And the teams were hampered by rain again last night, forcing the playing of only one the the two scheduled contests.

The PawSox also found no luck on the field, as they could only muster five hits in falling to the Yankees 3-0.

Billy Traber (7-7) took the loss for the PawSox, giving up all three runs on nine hits over five innings.  Traber gave up one home run, a solo shot to 2B Kevin Russo in the fifth.

Chris Carter had two of the PawSox’ five hits.

The two teams will attempt to play another double header late this afternoon (5:05pm).  Randor Bierd (1-1, 4.76 ERA) and Charlie Zink (5-14, 5.85 ERA) will pitch for the PawSox.
