No Support For Bowden As PawSox Fall To Iron Pigs

Another strong performance by PawSox starter Michael Bowden was wasted as the Pawtucket offense was again stymied, falling to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, 4-1 at Coca-Cola Park.

Bowden gave up only one run on six hits over five innings.  He struck out four and did not walk a batter.  He did not figure in the decisIron Pigsion.

T.J. Large (3-3) took the loss in relief, yielding three runs as the Iron Pigs broke-up a 1-1 tie with a run in the sixth.

Pawtucket’s sole run came in the fourth on an RBI single by Dusty Brown.  Brown and Travis Denker had two hits each for the PawSox.

1B Andy Tracy collected three hits and drove in two runs to pace the Iron Pigs.

The two teams wrap-up their two game series tonight (7:05pm).  Adam Mills (1-1, 3.27 ERA) starts for Pawtucket against Kyle Kendrick (8-7, 3.38 ERA) for Lehigh Valley.

NOTES:  According to the Projo report below, PawSox outfielders Brian Anderson and Joey Gathright will be called up to the Red Sox today as Major League teams are allowed to expand their rosters for the remainder of the season.
