Red Wings Rebound to Beat PawSox
The Rochester Red Wings broke-up a 3-3 tie with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth on their way to a 6-4 victory over the PawSox last night at McCoy.
Rochester took the lead on three consecutive doubles in the fifth by Drew Butera, Jason Pridie, and Matt Tolbert off PawSox starter Billy Traber (7-8).
Traber pitched six innings in taking the loss. He surrendered eight hits, walking one and striking out two.
Meanwhile knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (2-1) pitched seven innings to pick-up the win for the Red Wings. He gave up nine hits, walking three and striking out three.
Brock Peterson went three for three for the Red Wings. Dustin Martin had two hits and drove in two runs.
Gil Velazquez had two RBI’s for Pawtucket while Chris Carter, Mark Wagner, and Dusty Brown collected two hits each for the PawSox.
The PawSox welcome the Syracuse Chiefs to McCoy tonight (6:15pm) for the first of two games to wrap up the home portion of their season. Daisuke Matsuzaka (0-1, 1.54 ERA) will make a rehab start for Pawtucket. Ross Detwiler (3-2, 3.05 ERA) throws for the Chiefs.
