Iron Pigs Sweep PawSox 3-2
The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox 3-2 last night at Coca-Cola Park to sweep their two-game series in Allentown, PA.
The PawSox again wasted a fairly solid starting performance, this time by Adam Mills (1-2). Mills did give up all three LHV runs, but only one was earned. An Angel Chavez error in the third led to two uneraned runs to score. Mills pitched four innings, giving up seven hits while walking one and striking out two.
Pawtucket’s runs came on a two run, two out triple by Bubba Bell in the eighth off Iron Pigs starter Kyle Kendrick (9-7) .
Mike Cervenack had three hits to lead the Iron Pigs.
The PawSox return home tonight (7:05pm) to begin their final homestand of the season. They open up with a two game series with the Rochester Red Wings. Tonight’s first game will feature Jason Jones (5-10, 5.69 ERA) pitching for Rochester and Enrique Gonzalez (7-11, 5.34 ERA) for the PawSox.
