Tides Take Lead on PawSox After Six 5-2

The Norfolk Tides have taken the lead over the PawSox, 5-2 through six innings today at Fenway Park

The Tides took the lead scoring three runs in the top of the sixth off PawSox starter Charlie Zink.  1B Brandon Snyder led off with a walk and advanced to third on a double by 2B Justin Turner.  SS Blake Davis followed with a two-run double down the left field line.  One batter later Davis scored on a RBI double by 3B Brandon Pinckney.

The PawSox had a great opportunity to respond in the bottom of the sixth, loading the bases with one out.  But RF Bubba Bell lined to left and Angel Chavez struck out to end the threat.

Zink’s day is over, giving up five runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings.  He walked three, struck out one, hit two batters, and threw a wild pitch.  T.J. Large took over for Zink in the sixth.
