Columbus Clips PawSox 4-3
The Columbus Clippers cashed in three times in the seventh inning to overtake the PawSox, 4-3 this afternoon at McCoy.
PawSox reliever Javier Lopez (0-1) took the loss, giving up three runs in the seventh inning. The big hit for the Clippers came on a two-run double by CF Trevor Crowe.
PawSox starter Kris Joihnson had a good outing, yielding only two hits over five innings. He walked three and did not register a strikeout.
The Pawtucket runs came on a single by Ivan Ochoa and a bases loaed walk to Chris Duncan in the fifth and a Chris Carter single inthe seventh.
Ochoa and C Mark Wagner had two hits each for the PawSox.
Clippers’ reliever Frank Herrmann (2-1) was credited with the win.
The PawSox hit the road and will begin a series tomorrow night (7:05pm) in Buffalo against the Bisons. Junichi Tazawa will make his PawSox debut against Nelson Figueroa (6-5, 2.42 ERA) for the Bisons.
