Red Wings Sweep Slumping PawSox
The Pawtucket Red Sox once again could not get their bats in gear, scoring a total of only one run on six hits, dropping a double headder to the Rochester Red Wings, 5-0 and 6-1.
The PawSox were held to two hits in game one and four in game two. Their lone run in the twin bill came on an RBI double by Angel Chavez in the third inning of game two. Aaron Bates collected two hits in the double headder for Pawtucket.
PawSox starters Kris Johnson (3-11) and Charlie Zink (4-11) both have the dubious distinction of leading the International League in losses with 11 apiece. Both gave up 5 earned runs.
Pawtucket, loseres of 11 of their last 12, will wrap-up their series with the Red Wings today with a morning contest at 11:05am. Enrique Gonzalez (7-8, 5.74 ERA) will pitch for the PawSox. He’ll be opposed by Phillip Humber (4-7, 6.28 ERA) for the Red Wings.
