Red Wings Slug PawSox 12-5

The Rochester Red Wings used a 17-hit attack, combined with 5 Pawtucket errors, to dominate the PawSox last night 12-5 at Frontier Field.

Rochester lead-off man Jason Pridie had a big night, going 4 for 5 and driving in 5 runs.  David Winfree and Matt Macri each added three hits.

The PawSox were paced by Chris Carter who smacked two home runs and drove in three runs. Travis Denker doubled and drove in the other two Pawtucket runs.

Left Billy Traber (5-5) made another start for the PawSox out of the bullpen.  He lasted only 5 innings, giving up 7 runs (5 earned) on 11 hits.  He did not walk or strikeout a batter.  He did give up two home runs.

Rocky Cherry and Jose Vaquedano did not fear much better out of the pen. They went a combined three innings giving up five runs on six hits.

Yohan Pino (1-0) took the win in his debut with the Red Wings.

The series continues tonight (7:05 p.m) as PawSox’ lefthander Kris Johnson (3-10, 6.21 ERA) takes the hill against Jeff Manship (2-1, 4.24 ERA) for Rochester.
