PawSox Top Mud Hens, 2-1

The PawSox once again rode a strong starting pitching effort, and rehabbing Rocco Baldelli chipped in with an RBI as Pawtucket edged the Toledo Mud Hens, 2-1 tonight at McCoy.

Baldelli drove in the PawSox first run of the game in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly to center.  He finished the game 0 for 3, twice groudning out to third and strkining out looking.

The PawSox added their second in the bottom of the fifth on a lead-off double by Dusty Brown and an RBI single by Gil Velazquez.

PawSox starter Kris Johnson (2-2) got the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings, giving up one run on four hits.  The run came on a solo homer run by Toledo DH Ryan Roberson in the top of the fifth inning.  He walked two and struck out three.  Toledo starter Lucas French (1-2) took the loss.

Rocky Cherry, Chris George, and Daniel Bard came in to close the door on Toledo, with Bard earning his fifth save of the season.

Chip Ambres had two of Pawtucket’s seven hits on the night.
