  • PawSox Lead Iron Pigs 2-0 After Two

The PawSox lead the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs 2-0 after two innings this afternoon at McCoy.

Pawtucket scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning as Lehigh Valles starter Steve Green walked the bases loaded with one out.  Chip Ambres then drove in both runs with a single to left.

PawSox starter Marcus McBeth, pressed into duty for the ailing Clay Buchholz, has been perfect through two innings, throwing a total of only 18 pitches, 12 for strikes.

  • PawSox vs. Lehigh Valley- April 18, 2009

sox-lhv1I’m here at my perch in the McxCoy Stadoium press box getting set for gme two of the series between the PawSox and the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.  It’s Paws’ 10th Birthday Celebration!  It looks like the weather will be dry with the temperatures seasonable.

Marcus McBeth (1-0) will make a spot start for the PawSox.  He takes the spot of Clay Buchholz, who is missing the start due to a pulled hamstring.  He’ll be opposed by Rodrigo Lopez (0-0) for Lehigh Valley…Here are the line-ups…

    LEHIGH VALLEY

    Rich Thompson CF
    Jason Donald SS
    Mike Cervenack DH
    Andy Tracy 1B
    Pablo Ozuna 2B
    Jeremy Slayden RF
    J.J. Furmaniak
    Jason Ellison LF
    Orlando Guevara C

    PAWSOX

    Jeff Bailey 1B
    Travis Denker 2B
    Paul McAnulty LF
    Dusty Brown C
    Chip Ambres CF
    Jeff Natale 1B
    Angel Chavez 3B
    Sean Danielson CF
    Ivan Ochoa SS

Because McBeth is making the start out of the bullpen, he will probably be restricted to only a few innings.  PawSox Manager Ron Johnson says because of the solid pitching of Charlie Zink and Billy Traber last night, there are plenty of arms in the bullpen to complete today’s game.

    More updates to come…
